Those who speak with knowledge of the facts say that in a war, the most terrible bombs are those that fall at the beginning. Afterwards, one already unconsciously “gets used to” the disaster. Until the final bomb falls and everything ends. This distressing warlike description parallels our painful local political reality. We explain it. The last provincial election, with still a lot of cloth to cut, left a disastrous symbol: the definition of the last legislative bench in the capital. The complaint by former judge and candidate Enrique Pedicone about the final scrutiny at the last table, which defined the bench in favor of Hugo Ledesma, forcefully tarnishes the declared pro-government transparency about this election. The numerous tests, published by this newspaper, refuting the final decision of the Electoral Board, which ruled against him, result in the final consecration of impunity in Tucumán. As if the impudent and open clientelism known to all were not enough (where the opposition even denounced the delivery of drugs in exchange for votes), the lamentable performance of this Electoral Board is added. As if that were not enough, the task of his spokesperson, a former journalist, censoring the informative task of the supervisory work, precisely in this fact, rounds off a black page of Tucuman politics, which will remain as a milestone of these dark democratic times? The worst thing is that we already naturalized all this, as if we were “used to it”. But furthermore, we have not heard any opposition leader express his solidarity with former judge Pedicone, from whom, at the time, we rescued his admirable courage to denounce the power of this province. In that event, he accused Supreme Court member Daniel Leiva of influence peddling, for which he was dismissed. And now, surely with the same convictions and principles of wanting to bring our province out of decadence, he is clearly harmed by this board, whose president is… Oh coincidence!… Leiva himself. Honestly, I think we have reached the point where the entire opposition arc, which really believes that this electoral system is disastrous, should refrain from participating in the next provincial elections, if conditions do not change. If they did, they would be validating the fraud they are denouncing… and exposing themselves, before everyone, as if they were thinking: “I was lucky… the bomb didn’t hit me…”
