The bus companies will reinforce all their services by more than 40% this summer, 10 points more than in the summer period of last year, after expecting a demand of 9 million passengers in July alone.

In this way, the forecasts suggest that the bus will be chosen as the mode of transport by 20% of the population during this month of July, thanks, according to the employer, to advantages such as security, the capillarity of the network and the sustainability.
However, Confebús insists on one of the biggest problems that still persist in the sector, the lack of professionals, so the shortage of drivers could force some companies to have part of the fleet stopped due to the impossibility of people available to drive them. .
For this reason, the employer requests “urgent support” from the Administration so that a solution can be found to this situation and be able to continue offering the service to passengers who travel in the summer season.
Bus transport has 46% of the market share, transports around 220 million tourists a year and generates a turnover of around 1,300 million euros.
