The monthly Euribor breaks the 4% barrier for the first time in 15 years and makes the average mortgage more expensive up to 250 euros per month

The Euribor continues to cause pain to the around four million Spanish households mortgaged at a variable rate. The 12-month average of this indicator, the main reference used to update variable loans, exceeded the 4% barrier in June, something that had not happened for almost 15 years. To find a higher monthly Euribor, one would have to go back to November 2008, when the country was about to wake up from the real estate euphoria of the turn of the century and a global financial crisis was brewing.
