This project is based, as explained by the Port Authority, in the works that were carried out, between 2016 and 2017, for the railway connection to the docks on the right bank of the estuary to link the Valliniello dock with the network of interest general. This new track, with Iberian gauge, began at the east quay of the San Agustn basin and connected with the route executed in 2014, at the southern end of Valliniello.
In this way, the southern part was connected, but rail access was not provided to the northern part, a section that corresponds to phase I, which is now the one that is out for tender. The cost of the works is more than 2.1 million euros and the estimated execution period is ten months. The full financing of this work is covered by Next Generation EU European Funds from the Spain Can Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
