Ukraine: Russia claims to have killed two Ukrainian generals in the strike on Kramatorsk
The Russian army said on Thursday it killed two generals and dozens of other Ukrainian officers, as well as around 20 foreign military instructors in a recent strike on Kramatorsk in eastern Ukraine.
“As a result of a high-precision strike (…), two generals, up to 50 officers of the Ukrainian forces and up to 20 foreign mercenaries and military instructors who participated in a meeting (…) were eliminated”, a the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
This announcement comes two days after a strike on Kramatorsk – an important railway hub and home to military sites, which destroyed a restaurant, killing 12 people and injuring around 60 people according to the Ukrainian authorities.
The Russian Ministry of Defense for its part said on Wednesday that it had hit a “temporary deployment point” of the 56th mechanized infantry brigade of the Ukrainian armed forces.
