Tuomas Iisalo thus succeeds Will Weaver, back as assistant coach of the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA, and will aim to lead Paris Basketball for the first time in the Betclic Elite playoffs and as far as possible in the Eurocup.
Tuomas Iisalo, who describes himself as a “man of challenges” was attracted by “enormous potential around basketball in the Paris region”. The ambition will be to “make people want to identify with Paris Basketball and be proud of it”.
In a press release, the capital club, which finished 9th in the 2022-2023 Betclic Elite season, said it was “proud to have recruited a coach who many consider to be the best young coach in all of Europe”.
