Ukraine prepares for “any scenario” at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant

The secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksii Danilov, assured this Thursday that the Ukrainian authorities are preparing for “any scenario” at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, under Russian control for months.

“We are preparing very carefully for any scenario that may occur. Some training is being carried out. We are working according to the procedure we have,” Danilov said at a press conference, according to Ukrinform.

Thus, the secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council has stressed that, in the event of a Russian attack against the plant, the international community must have an “instantaneous” and forceful reaction.

“If, God forbid, such events take place, then we must talk about what kind of world we live in, when a terrorist country can launch a nuclear attack against a country that has no relation to it,” he added.

Ukraine’s president, Volodimir Zelensky, has recently warned that Russia may be planning to launch an offensive against the Zaporizhia plant with the aim of causing a nuclear accident.

“The existence of Russia within the limits in which it exists today is a threat to the entire civilized world. And the events that have taken place there in recent days with the participation of Wagner indicate that this is a country without control,” has apostilled

Regarding the Wagner Group, Danilov has stressed that it is a terrorist organization and has warned that its members “can travel outside of Russia”, something that should put the international community on alert.
