This is the objective of the executive committee of the Beninese athletics federation which, thanks to the women’s sports project, has just provided the regional leagues with several materials. The delivery of said materials was made on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the GMK stadium in Kouhounou, in the presence of League officials, the coordinator of the ”Femme Au Sport” project, Anne Bio Bigou, the representative of the French Embassy, Marie Veillon, Dg Stade, Aristide Codjogan, Dsfs, Okry Nonvignon and members of the FBA executive committee.
In terms of equipment and materials given to each of the regional leagues, there are 40 hurdles, 8 javelins, 01 megaphone, 20 studs and 10 spare slats. They come in addition to the javelins, discs and weights that the federal committee had already given them a few years ago to boost the development of throws and offer the same conditions for learning and practicing sport-passion to all athletes. In addition to the materials, President Viérin Dégon and his committee also gave grants to the said Leagues for the organization of their respective competitions. These subsidies come from those made available to the Federation by the Government to finance and support the development of the first Olympic discipline that it runs.

What they say: Before proceeding with the handover, the President of the FBA thanked the Government through the Ministry of Sports as well as the French Embassy and their executives, for having understood the challenge of making available to athletes in general. and in particular female athletes of these materials and equipment. “This is the place to express our gratitude and our recognition to his Excellency Mr. Marc VIZY, Ambassador of France to Benin and to Mr. Oswald HOMEKY, our Minister of Sports who concluded the financing agreement within the framework of the project Sport Au Féminin which has made it possible to acquire the equipment that we are handing over today, ”informed President Vierin Dégon who did not fail to specify the context in which the allocations from which the Regional Leagues have benefited for a few months have been held. “In 2022 during the reflection seminar on the development of athletics organized by our Federation in Dassa-Zoumè, several areas of strategic action were identified as decisive for the promotion, influence and development of Beninese athletics. It specifically emerged from our conclusions that the availability in all our regions of equipment and materials for a healthy, secure and quality practice of athletics was an imperative necessity”, indicated President Dégon, convinced that these Materials and equipment will provide athletes and coaches with the necessary tools for learning the various athletics events. For her part, the coordinator, Anne Bio Bigou urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the said materials given to them. What the latter did not fail to promise to do.
