Disney California Adventure’s Hyperion Theater is now home to the highly anticipated new one-act musical, “Rogers: The Musical.” Inspired by the fake Broadway show seen in the hit Disney+ series “Hawkeye,” the musical made its debut for the general public today, following a preview for media and select D23 Gold Members.
To catch the show, guests have three options: purchasing the Premium Viewing Experience, joining a virtual queue, or opting for standby. While the virtual queue is not mandatory, it is highly recommended. The Premium Viewing Experience, priced at $29, offers limited space and sold out within an hour of its availability on opening day.
“Rogers: The Musical” captures the essence of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and brings beloved characters to life on stage. The show is hosted by the “monarchs of melody,” the Starkettes, while notable figures like Steve Rogers (Captain America), Peggy Carter, and Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier) take center stage.
The musical kicks off with a spectacular opening number that introduces Steve Rogers and sets the tone for his remarkable journey. It also showcases the relationship between Steve and Peggy, with glimpses of their future intertwined in the performance.
The show takes the audience through Steve’s transformation from a scrawny man to the iconic Captain America. Along the way, the infamous battle between Captain America and Red Skull is portrayed, and there are nods to other Marvel films like “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Captain America: Civil War,” and “Avengers: Infinity War.”
“Rogers: The Musical” concludes with an emotional exchange between young Steve and an older version of himself, after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Old Steve uses the Time Stone to send young Steve back in time to have his long-awaited date with Peggy Carter.
