DIG/ The Council of Ministers of June 26, 2023 adopted a bill authorizing the Gabonese State to contract a “Blue loan” or “Blue Loan” in the amount of five hundred million (500,000,000) US Dollars (300 billion FCFA) for the restructuring of Gabon’s debt on the international financial markets with a view to:
The completion of a marine land use plan, in execution of the Marine Spatial Plan (PSM);
the establishment and strengthening of effective surveillance measures for sustainable fisheries management, in order to guarantee the maintenance of the resource with considerable and lasting socio-economic and ecological benefits;
the creation of a conservation fund which will make it possible to finance activities identified in the PSM and considered as priorities for Gabon.
