The drastic excessive percentage of people with bad habits is surprising, reaching the rate of 90% of obese people. 17.1% in 2023 before 9% in 2022. Unhealthy living comes down to frequent screen time instead of doing something really productive, like exercising. More than 76.01% young people are in front of a screen, as well as poor diet.

The consumption of sweets and soft drinks without any balance is also a villain for health. The lack of vegetables and greens in food can bring consequences for life. The replacement of water by artificial juices has harmful consequences, so much so that in 2019, 541,160 people aged between 30 and 69 died because they did not have a healthy diet. According to the Center for Epidemiological Research in Nutrition and Health (Nupens/USP).

“The consumption of ultra-processed foods represents an important cause of premature death in Brazil. Reducing the intake of ultra-processed foods would promote substantial health gains for the population and should be a priority of food policy to reduce premature mortality “, concluded the authors in the study.

“Understanding the behavior of the Brazilian population regarding risk factors for chronic non-communicable diseases, which are the leading cause of death in the world, is essential to guide priorities, planning and actions related to public health policies”says Pedro de Paula, executive director of Vital Strategies

Therefore, a healthy diet, as well as physical activity, can be a good ally for those who wish to have a quality life, both for young people and for the elderly.
