São Paulo beat Talleres-ARG this Saturday morning (01) and won the U-17 Criciúma Cup title. Tricolor overcame the opponent on penalties after a 2-2 tie in regular time, goals scored by Carneiro and Samuel, in dispute at the Heriberto Hülse stadium, in Criciúma (SC) – 7-6 on penalties.
Tricolor opened the scoring in a lightning goal, at seven seconds. After Takada stole the ball from the defense, he played for Carneiro to score. The Argentines managed to equalize, but the #MadeInCotia team took the lead in the 25th minute. Captain Samuel, taking advantage of the rebound, scored the second. However, Talleres got the tie again and took the decision to penalties.
The São Paulo team were perfect in the kicks: Gustavo, Karlos, Igão, Pedro Ferreira, Nicolas, Basile and Enzo converted, and goalkeeper JP shone when he saved his rival’s seventh kick.
The São Paulo campaign had four wins, one draw and one defeat, 19 goals scored and six conceded. It is worth remembering that Tricolor won the title playing with a predominantly Under-16 team, as the category plays the Campeonato Paulista category simultaneously.
