The founder of Caminando Fronteras and human rights activist Helena Maleno denounced this Saturday the death of at least 51 people in a new shipwreck that occurred on the Canary Islands route, after eight days adrift in a pneumatic boat.
As Maleno explained through his Twitter account, among the fatalities there are 11 women and three minors and there are only four survivors who are hospitalized.
Maleno has specified that the inflatable in which the migrants were on board left the Moroccan city of Tan Tan, in the south of the country. “Death at the border is installed due to the lack of means of rescue and the scant collaboration between countries to defend the right to life,” denounced the activist.
