Despite the victory, the Partido Popular Guatemala (PPG), group that promoted his candidacy, is on its way to being canceled, since it failed to meet the requirements established by the Electoral and Party Law to remain in force.
The legal framework establishes that they must achieve 5 percent in the intention to vote in the presidential election or at least one seat in Congress. The party did not achieve either of the two, since it did not postulate a binomial and did not win any seats.
The candidacies promoted by the party
The group created in 2020 promoted the candidacy for deputy Jorge García Silva, who is indicated in the embezzlement of Q28 million in the Insivumeh.
