LOUVIÈRE- the cultural and significant event within the Congolese diaspora continued on its merry way, this Sunday, July 02, 2023, in the city of La Louvière (Wallonia – Belgium).

It is not far from the station of La Louvière – center, that Africa through Wallonia African Market (WAM) has settled in the place of Bracquegnies, with not only a festive atmosphere, but also a reflection on various projects to be carried out for the advancement of the African community in Europe as well as in Africa.

The wealth of Africa including the DRC

For this closing day, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., several people from the African diaspora will highlight their works through various stands on display, in order to discover the richness of Africa, as the organizers of this important event say. .

All this, accompanied by a varied music of Afro pop, Congolese musicians from the diaspora who will also explain and highlight the Congolese Rumba (Editor’s note. Style of music in the DRC) through some masterpieces . This one was recently listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Significant trading time

Initiated by Mrs. Feza Mushobekwa, this event, she explains, aims to build bridges between these populations who share the same space on a daily basis and also allow them to know each other differently through the prejudices conveyed by traditional channels.

It is up to her to add that this cultural exchange revolves around several priority areas, in particular music, fashion, Art, Gastronomy, Tourism and finally for Youth and Business.

“Africa is a continent rich in history and culture, so we really have to learn to showcase, to showcase what we have,” she concluded.

Note that this activity, which began on Saturday July 01, 2023, saw the participation of several members of the African and Congolese community and residents of La Louvière and the surrounding area.
