Bandai Namco and the developer Limbic surprise us this time with Park Beyond, a wild and fun amusement park simulator

To be honest, the simulation genre is not one of my favorites. I don’t usually have the patience and hours necessary to enjoy this type of game. I get frustrated quickly when something doesn’t work out for me or the messy menus these games have. But recently, thanks to Game Pass, I ventured to try SEGA’s Two Point saga and I loved it. Thanks to this, I was encouraged to analyze this Park Beyond, and the truth is, this was a good decision. If you want to know everything about the Limbic and Bandai Namco game, stay with us in this analysis.

Imagine being… an architect of roller coasters

Park Beyond is an amusement park simulator where we can build the park of our dreams and become a real roller coaster architect. The game has two game modes, the campaign mode and another called a mixed bag.. In the first, it will work as an extensive tutorial, where through different missions, we can learn all the mechanics of the title, in addition to having a nice story. The second mode is a kind of free mode where we can create the park of our dreams without any kind of limitation, embodying everything we have learned during the campaign mode. In this story mode, we will be a young man who, thanks to his passion for amusement parks, is hired by the Cloudmasters company, which is not going through its best moment, so we will be in charge of taking it back to glory .

Fun for adults, teens and families

At first, Park Beyond seems to be a rather simple title due to its look and the first few missions where you can’t do much, but this changes quickly. The title is very deep, and we can do a thousand and one things to create the park of our dreams. One thing that I really liked is that you They give many aesthetic possibilities to make our park a beautiful place, but this will not be enough for it to succeed, since the economic section comes into play. It is useless to have the best attractions if their prices are very high. It is also useless to have a thousand food joints if we do not have hired cleaning staff, making the place dirty and no one comes to the park. As we can see, in addition to macro-management, we can make small decisions that significantly affect the performance of our park.

Another aspect that I have also found to be a success is that we can choose the theme of our park and what type of people it is aimed at. For example, We can orient our park towards families, so very intense and dangerous attractions will not work, since families are looking for something quieter and more relaxed to enjoy with children. The same goes for the food and drink stalls, teenagers will love that there are stalls such as hamburgers. As I said before, the theme of the park is also important. There is a wide variety of themes, from space to the old west, which is also key to success.

feel the adrenaline

A very important mechanic of Park Beyond is the creation of the roller coasters. We can create all that come to mind. From those with vertiginous falls, with cannons that are thrown at us in defiance of all physics and even some underground. In this aspect the game is very surreal but quite fun. Before building the attraction we must check that it is safe and that the wagons do not derail, editing it at will and making the necessary changes if it does not comply with the necessary safety. Once built, we can test the attraction in first person, this being quite spectacular and releasing adrenaline.

The controls of the title, despite being a management title, are more than correct on the console, although of course, they are not as intuitive as they can be on a PC. Despite this, I have noticed that although controls are well implemented in consolethese are not explained correctly in the tutorials, asking you to do something but not explaining how to do it, having to navigate through the numerous menus until you find what you are asked to do.

Parks full of light and color

The graphic section of Park Beyond is quite good. In Series X it has a very colorful appearance, with elements and characters that seem to have been taken from a cartoon series. Being a management game, the graphics and artistic section fully comply, since everything is very beautiful. The game also has a day-night cycle, generating images at night, thanks to the spectacular lighting, very beautiful. It is true that if we approach the elements of the settings, the textures may be lacking in detail, but this is not a big problem. In terms of performance, I have noticed drops in frames in the cinematics, especially at the start, to such an extent that the image completely froze.

As for the sound, this one also complies. It is appreciated that all the voices are dubbed into Spanish and with an outstanding dubbing. Sound effects and ambient sounds also work correctly. Each attraction has a melody which we can choose manually. The level of customization of the title is incredible. The soundtrack of the game is quite nice and catchy.

conclusions

Park Beyond is a very good management game. It is true that it does not revolutionize the genre, but everything that it proposes does really well. It seems to be a very simple game due to its aesthetics but Park Beyond is really deep, to the delight of simulator lovers. Limbic and Bandai Namco have done a great job and we hope they will surprise us again in the future with new work. A totally recommended title both for regulars of the genre and for those who are new to this.
