“West Paris” is affected by a major power cut on Monday July 3 from 7:07 a.m., the RTE network manager told AFP. This outage, the cause of which has not yet been determined, concerns both the capital and several municipalities in the first ring, affecting at least 73,000 customers, specifies RTE.

For the moment, this is “not a figure that includes the entire accident”, but only the customers of the municipalities of Courbevoie, Clichy, Neuilly and Levallois-Perret affected by the breakdown, which concerns a power of 130 MW, specified the manager of the high voltage electrical network. The number of Parisian homes without electricity was not given.

The breakdown occurred at 7:07 a.m. in an electrical substation which, due to its structure, requires on-site intervention by RTE agents to be repaired.
