Electoral abstention, which continues to grow in France, will be one of the keys to the first round of municipal elections next Sunday.

In 2008, the first round of municipal elections resulted in an abstention rate never reached since 1959 for an election of this nature: 37.83% for municipalities of 3,500 inhabitants and more, 39.61% in those of 9,000 and more, 41.06% for 30,000 and more, 43.11% in those with at least 100,000 inhabitants.
