Benfica announced, this Monday, the winger Tiago Gouveia contract renewal until 2028 and the striker did not hide his happiness for the continuity in what has been his club for the last six years, looking to the future.
«It is a feeling of pride and responsibility, to feel this commitment from a club like Benfica. Now, it’s up to me to demonstrate my quality and help Benfica to achieve its objectives», he began by saying, in statements to BTV.
«It made me grow as a person and as a player, gain more experience at the highest level of Portuguese football. I came back, I came back better and I want to use all this experience that I managed to accumulate to help Benfica », he added, looking at the loan to Estoril.
The young striker still envisioned the next season, where will do the pre-season with the Benfica team: «About the season [2023/24], the prospects are very simple: arrive, do my best and try to assert myself as a Benfica player. I know it will not be an easy task, but I believe I have that quality and ability to achieve this.»
