Martin Fayulu

In the flood of reasons for contesting the electoral process which should lead to the elections next December, the opponent Martin Fayulu has already raised several these days. Lack of transparency, suspicion of fraud, opacity and many others that led him to take the decision to temporarily withdraw from this process and not to file a candidacy at all levels for his party, until his claims are successful.

In his message, on the occasion of the celebration of the 63rd anniversary of the independence of the DRC, the leader of ECiDé first made an inventory of the results of nearly 5 years since the 2018 elections. the dramatic decline of the country in terms of security, economic and social, respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, in terms of governance, politics and diplomacy. Then, he denounced all the structures that intervene in the electoral process, describing them as “tribalized” and prepared to win the power in place.

“My dear compatriots, it is in this environment, with such a catastrophic record that Mr. Félix Tshisekedi, without scruple, wants to try to steal a second mandate thanks to a fraud device that he has put in place. Because, all the structures which intervene in the circuit of the electoral operations are tribalized and directed by his affidés”, lamented Martin Fayulu.

He called on all Congolese to demand, therefore, elections worthy of the name.

“We have a duty to stop it and stop the bleeding. To do this, dear compatriots, I urge you to demand, like LAMUKA, transparent, impartial, inclusive and peaceful elections which must be organized on the basis of a reliable electoral file, audited by a reputable independent body, in the presence of our delegates. . There is no way that elections will be held in the DRC, won in advance by anyone and especially not by Mr. Tshisekedi and his Sacred Union,” adds Martin Fayulu.

The electoral process continues even if all the stakeholders are not unanimous on several issues, including the reliability of the electoral register. The president of the CENI has been summoning the electorate for the national legislative elections since June 25. The BRTCs will be open for 20 days.

To remove the misunderstanding and find common ground to achieve credible, transparent, inclusive and peaceful elections next December, the opposition quartet discussed with Denis Kadima on June 30. They reviewed all the problems that motivate their protest, in particular the law on the organization and functioning of the CENI, the composition of the central electoral office, the electoral law and its weaknesses, the points of disagreement in this law or the problem of the preparation of the electoral register.

After the meeting, Martin Fayulu, who spoke on behalf of Moïse Katumbi, Delly Sesanga and Matata Ponyo, said that they had agreed on the posting of the voter lists but the question of the audit external electoral register remains pending. The quartet makes external audit a requirement that cannot be set aside because “the election process is done on the basis of trust”.
