After a protection action issued by a Pichincha judge, the process returned to one of the first phases; Initially there were 118 legal applicants, however, due to the ruling of the Judicial Unit of the aforementioned province, the contest now has the regulations that were issued in the Presidency of Sofía Almeida, the same one who was removed from the position as president of the Participation Council Citizenship and Social Control (CPCCS) in February 2022.
