Nacer Bouhanni’s sporting life took a turn in the second stage of the 2022 Tour of Turkey when he fractured his cervical vertebra after a heavy fall. Since then, he has not been able to return to his usual level and for this reason, he seriously considers ending his professional career.
He returned to compete in Mallorca at the beginning of the year and another fall upset his plans. His best performance was the 6th place in Milano-Torino during a course where he has recorded six retirements.
His contract with Arkéa expires in December and taking advantage of that, and that the team will sign Arnaud Démare for the volatas, it could be the perfect time to end this ordeal and not stain a life cycle in which he has obtained 6 stages between Giro and Lap.
