The accused, identified as Murugan, 48, a farm laborer from Rayapanpatti North Street Colony, was apprehended after a complaint was filed against him.

The incident took place on the morning of July 2 when Murugan was walking with his wife Chitra, 40. Jayachandran from Colony Street reportedly took a photo of Chitra without her consent using his mobile phone. When Murugan confronted him about the incident, Jayachandran threatened to harm him.

Disturbed by the incident, Murugan approached the police and filed a complaint against Jayachandran. Upon investigating the matter, the police discovered over 1,500 images of women and girls on Jayachandran’s mobile phone. Shockingly, many of the photos were of private school students and college students, whom he had transported as a van driver.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Jayachandran had been capturing these images for his personal entertainment. The police subsequently arrested him and continue to investigate the matter further.
