One of the two wanted to attack “blacks and Arabs”. Two individuals were arrested in Bron (Rhône), on Saturday July 1, after violently hitting a car. Indicted for “willful violence with weapons because of the real or supposed belonging to a race or a religion”, they would have caused this accident in response to the riots, according to information from France Info.
The facts took place in front of the Woman-Mother-Child hospital in Bron. A father is driving his seven-year-old daughter to the hospital when they are brutally hit in the rear by a vehicle with false license plates. The father and his daughter were not injured, but the shock was violent enough to trigger the airbags. The passenger, slightly affected by the shock, was taken care of by a nurse. The driver fled, but was quickly caught.
A shotgun in the trunk
In the car of the two men, the police found a shotgun and a box of 111 cartridges. In police custody, the passenger assured that they had no desire to be violent, that they had simply been drinking. The driver, on the other hand, assured his side that he wanted to attack “blacks and Arabs” in reaction to the riots which have shaken the country since the death of Nahel.
