West suspects Russia of preparing an invasion of Ukraine

In October, reports began to arrive about the pulling together of Russian troops to the border with Ukraine. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that up to 100 thousand Russian military personnel were deployed near the borders of his country. The US suggested that Russia could invade Ukraine in early 2022. The United States and other Western countries have threatened the Russian Federation with the toughest sanctions in the event of such a scenario.

Moscow denies plans to invade Ukraine and, for its part, accuses the West of arming the country and conducting maneuvers near Russian borders.
