Invited to LCI on Thursday, government spokesman Olivier Véran accused insubordinate France (LFI) of “putting oil on the fire. “On Wednesday, the Left Party had called, like 90 organizations, for “citizen marches” on Saturday July 8 in order to demonstrate the “mourning” and “anger” of working-class neighborhoods following the riots that shook the country in recent days following the death of young Nahel.

“You have a party, insubordinate France, which for the past week has been constantly justifying, year after year, the fact that people want to challenge, including by resorting to social violence”, a launched Véran at the microphone of Adrien Gindre.

Policies deemed “discriminatory”

The appeal launched on Wednesday by 90 organizations classified on the left targets policies deemed “discriminatory” against working-class neighborhoods after they were the scene of numerous violence. They demand “the maintenance of public and individual freedoms” and “immediate responses” from the government “to get out of the confrontation. »

Among the signatories are political parties such as LFI or EELV, but also the CGT, Amnesty International France as well as local collectives of the Uprisings of the earth.
