Bomb tweets “Are you serious?”: Why the Hamburg fire brigade is really angry on Twitter

The Hamburg fire brigade reached its limits during a bomb disposal – on Twitter. In a tweet, the rescuers vented their anger.
The fire brigade’s social media team had apparently reached this limit on Wednesday evening and was therefore no longer able to use the Tweetdeck tool to monitor tweets, i.e. read no more tweets – of all times during a large-scale operation to find a bomb from the Second World War in the District Wilhelmsburg ran.

In addition, the information from the fire brigade was also passed on via a number of other channels (e.g. warning apps) and media such as radio stations or local newspapers.

In addition to the Twitter problems, the emergency services also had to contend with challenges on site in Wilhelmsburg. They repeatedly pointed out that people kept entering the exclusion zone and thus delayed the defusing.
The fire brigade later took the opportunity to refer to their channel at the Alternative Mastodon on Twitter. However, only 17 people follow her there.
