Women in Africa: Eramet unveils the 30 winners of its 1st vintage

DIG/ Launched a year ago by the French metallurgical giant Eramet, Women in Africa (WIA) and the Gabonese State, the Women of the Future program dedicated to women entrepreneurs delivered its first class on Saturday June 24, 2023.

30 laureates benefited from this initiative which aims to promote the inclusion of gender equality by training and supporting 130 Gabonese SMEs and VSEs over a period of three years (2022-2025).

For several months, the beneficiaries of the Femmes d’Avenir program benefited from more than 150 hours of practical training, individual mentoring, access to a dynamic network of experts, professionals and business angels from various sectors present during talks, masterclasses or networking sessions.

A necessary incubation period to enable them to develop their skills, expand their networks and access significant development opportunities.

During the ceremony, the jury of business Angels present at the pitch sessions awarded the first tied with Marie Gabrielle Mouckonga and Sarah Mboussou in recognition of their business model and their desire to provide tangible solutions to the local community through their businesses.

“The ambition of the Gabonese State and its partners, in particular the Eramet group and Women in Africa, through this program is to generate an impact on local communities, and to allow future generations of entrepreneurs to have role models.“, said Loïse Tamalgo, General Delegate for Africa of the Eramet group.

While the recruitment of the second promotion of 50 Gabonese women’s businesses is underway, Eramet and WIA are committed to creating other dynamic and innovative ecosystems for women’s entrepreneurship through the extension of the said program internationally, particularly in Senegal from September 2023.
