The French at the end of their career should see more clearly about their future supplementary pension by the fall. The unions and employers who manage the compulsory supplementary pension scheme for private sector employees, Agirc-Arrco, have agreed to tackle the question of the evolution of the rules for calculating supplementary pensions in September, according to the ‘social agenda’ they stopped.

A first meeting should be held soon to frame the discussions and get off to a good start after the summer break. The social partners want to move forward quickly to learn the lessons of the postponement of the legal age from 62 to 64 and to take it into account in November, the date on which supplementary pensions are revalued with regard to inflation. “Technically, the decision must be taken before October 10 to be able to pay the pensions”, specifies a spokesperson for Agirc-Arrco.
