The Organisation Security Department Municipality in Luleå, Östersund, Sundsvall, and Umeå County is currently accepting applications for the position of Security Officer. The department, responsible for the Police Authority’s operational protection and security, is looking for an energetic and hard-working individual to oversee security work in the North region.

With approximately 35,000 employees, the Police Authority is organized into seven regions and ten national departments. The Security Department consists of ten units dedicated to security work in the regions and national departments, as well as an office. The department handles various areas, including the protection of physical premises, employees, security checks, and information security.

The selected candidate will work at a regional level, providing support, advice, and expertise in personnel safety and employee protection. The role involves administrative tasks, managing other areas in the department during absences, and overseeing the physical security and risk management. The position is based in Umeå, Luleå, Sundsvall, or Östersund, with the opportunity to work in another location 1-2 days a week.

Key responsibilities of the Security Officer include:

– Personnel security – prevention and follow-up
– Protection of employees
– Security protection and risk management
– Incident management
– SUA (Support for the Use of Administrative Systems)
– Physical security
– Risk and vulnerability analysis
– Representing the Security Department within the police region
– Participating in national projects within the Police Authority
– Internal training in security issues
– Creating understanding of the police’s security work
– Occasional travel as required by the job

To qualify for the position, candidates must have a Police degree or another relevant academic degree, along with a minimum of seven years of work experience in security, law enforcement, or equivalent. Additionally, experience in independently conducting investigations, interviews, and security-related conversations is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish are essential, as the position involves writing authority decisions and letters.

Proficiency in computer skills, including the Office package and remote virtual meetings, is necessary. A valid driver’s license is also required for travel associated with the job. Additional qualifications such as documented security-related work, training as a security officer, and experience in management or leadership roles are considered advantageous.

The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, possess excellent analytical and decision-making skills, and be able to handle complex information. Strong communication skills and the ability to work flexibly and cooperatively in a team are highly valued.
