Golden State Warriors Sign Dario Šarić in Latest Bench Addition

The Golden State Warriors are continuing to strengthen their bench with the addition of free agent forward Dario Šarić, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. While the terms of the deal have not been disclosed, Wojnarowski has reported that Šarić has agreed to a one-year contract with the seven-year veteran.

Šarić, who was selected as the No. 12 pick in the 2014 draft, has played for the Phoenix Suns and Oklahoma City Thunder in the previous season. In 57 games played in 2023, the Croatian forward averaged 6.4 points and 3.6 rebounds.

The 29-year-old began his professional career with the Philadelphia 76ers, where he spent the first three seasons and showcased his skills with an average of 13.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. Šarić was subsequently traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves during the 2018 season as part of the Jimmy Butler trade, before being traded to the Suns during the 2019 draft.

Despite missing the entire 2021-22 season due to an ACL injury, Šarić proved to be a valuable role player for the Suns, averaging 8.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game off the bench. He was later traded to the Thunder on February 9.

Šarić will now reunite with former Suns teammate Chris Paul in Golden State. Paul, who spent three seasons with Phoenix, was initially set to join the Washington Wizards in a trade involving Bradley Beal but was ultimately sent to the Warriors instead.

With the addition of Šarić, the Warriors continue to bolster their roster with experienced players. The team hopes that his skills and contributions will further solidify their quest for another championship.
