The incident took place on the open stage at the wedding ceremony held today at the artist’s hall, Anna Vidyalayam, Chennai.

Thirunavukarasu, known for his outspokenness, openly addressed the issue, stating that while his son’s name was included on the wedding invitations, several ministers failed to attend the event. During his speech at the wedding ceremony, Chief Minister Stalin acknowledged Thirunavukarasu’s openness and expressed his appreciation, stating, “Brother Thirunavukarasu has always been able to speak openly about anything. He does not hide his thoughts. During his thank you speech, he acknowledged the absence of many individuals and expressed regret about it.”

Furthermore, Stalin recalled his interaction with Thirunavukarasu, mentioning, “I said to him when he placed a shawl on me and even put the traditional headgear. ‘Don’t worry…we have come with everyone, why are you worried?’ I tried to assure him and wished him happiness.”

Stalin also mentioned that apart from the wedding ceremony, there were numerous other events taking place on the same day that required the presence of many ministers across various districts. He assured Thirunavukarasu that they would attend the evening reception to congratulate the bride and groom, emphasizing that there was no need to worry.

Thirunavukarasu, a prolific writer with more than 4000 articles to his credit, has long been known for his unwavering support for the Dravidian movement, never tolerating even the slightest criticism. His prompt and fitting responses to any criticism have earned him the affectionate title of the “Thera” (teacher) of the Dravidian movement.

Overall, the incident at the wedding ceremony presented an opportunity for Chief Minister Stalin to address Thirunavukarasu’s concerns and assure him that all absentees would participate in the evening reception, thereby putting his worries to rest.
