Meanguera, Morazan. As part of the renovation of El Mozote, such is the presidential mandate, the Municipal Works Directorate began construction of the first sewage treatment plant in this historic hamlet in Meanguera, Morazán.
The works began on Sunday, July 2, to fulfill the government’s promise to turn El Mozote into an example of development for Latin America.
In this way, the aim is to optimize sewage sanitation, avoid contamination of water bodies, as well as update sewage collection systems and improve the quality of life of its more than 800 inhabitants.
The work will complement the transformation process, started last year, when the DOM delivered the first phase of renovation works including the parish church, the memorial square and the kindergarten; This year the construction of an urban well-being and opportunities center (CUBO), an amphitheater and a shopping and gastronomic plaza continued, among many other works that continued to be delivered this year, not only in El Mozote, but in other cantons and hamlets or town centers. urban areas of various municipalities of the aforementioned department.
