Covid Italy, ordinary hospitalizations and intensive care beyond the critical threshold

The hospitalizations of Covid patients in the ordinary wards of hospitals are growing in Italy. With the increase of one percentage point, the national average – according to the latest data from the National Agency for Health Services (Agenas) updated to yesterday – reaches 16%, thus exceeding the critical threshold set at 15%. The average employment of intensive care in Italy also increased by one percentage point, from 12% to 13% in 24 hours, 3 points above the maximum ceiling of 10%.

In ‘geographic’ detail, 13 Regions and Autonomous Provinces exceed the threshold, set at 15%, of the occupation of Covid beds in ordinary wards medical area: Calabria (28%), Friuli Venezia Giulia (22%), Lazio (16%), Liguria (29%), Lombardy (16%), Marche (22%), province of Bolzano (17%), province of Trento (18%), Piedmont (19%), Sicily (19%), Umbria (16%), Valle d’Aosta (29%) and Veneto (18%).

With regard to the employment of intensive care units, there are 13 Regions and autonomous provinces beyond the critical threshold of 10%: Abruzzo (13%), Calabria (13%), Emilia Romagna (13%), Friuli Venezia Giulia (15%), Lazio (14%), Liguria (19%), Lombardy (13%), Marche (17%) ), province of Bolzano (18%), province of Trento (26%), Piedmont (15%), Tuscany (14%), Veneto (17%).
