A failed British Grand Prix for Alpine, and a comeback Pierre Gasly. The French Formula 1 driver, forced to retire after contact with the Aston Martin of Canadian Lance Stroll on the Silverstone track on Sunday, came to explain himself with another competitor in the mixed zone in the wake of the race. The target of his wrath? The Spaniard from Ferrari Carlos Sainz, guilty in his eyes of a risky maneuver when they were neck and neck on the circuit.

In the mixed zone, Gasly then mainly talked about his retirement after the breakage of his suspension caused by contact with Lance Stroll on the 46th lap. “I am extremely disappointed, Lance caused our abandonment, he laments. The single-seaters from Alpine must be improved during the summer, logically in view of the Belgian Grand Prix at the end of July. In the meantime, the French team is sixth in the constructors’ standings, which is aiming for fourth place. In the drivers’ standings, Gasly is twelfth while his French teammate, Esteban Ocon, is tenth after also being forced to retire at Silverstone.
