Women Protest Against Villupuram South District BJP President Over Inappropriate Remarks

Villupuram, Tamil Nadu – In a significant development, a group of women has come forward to protest against VAD Kalivaradhan, the BJP president of Villupuram south district, accusing him of disrespect and inappropriate behavior towards party members. The protest took place in front of the district party office, where the women voiced their concerns about the lack of respect and safety within the party.

The unrest was sparked by the release of an audio recording featuring Kalivaradhan engaging in a conversation with the head of the district IT wing. The content of the conversation has been deemed inappropriate and offensive by party executives and has caused a stir among party members.

In response to the outcry, VAD has condemned Kalivarathan’s remarks and called upon the state BJP leadership to take swift action against him. The protesting women echoed his sentiments, highlighting the urgent need for action to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all party members, especially women.

One female BJP executive, who chose to remain anonymous, shared her frustrations during a media interview. She expressed that since Kalivaradhan assumed office, the executives have been facing mental turmoil, with a lack of willingness to take responsibility. Furthermore, she accused Kalivaradhan of speaking ill of Sivakumar, who had expressed interest in the position of district secretary.

“He is badmouthing everyone in the BJP. Only those in the opposition party talk like this. Is he the opposition party? He is not qualified to be the district head. If he speaks like a member of the opposition party, why should he be our district president?” she passionately argued.

Allegedly, there are several more audio recordings in existence, although many individuals are hesitant to publicize them for fear of tarnishing the party’s image. The protesting women emphasized the importance of not besmirching the party’s reputation, as they had previously shown unwavering support for Prime Minister Modi’s initiatives.

However, the situation has now taken an ugly turn, with YouTube channels circulating videos alleging mistreatment of women within the BJP. Such incidents have led to a reluctance among party members to communicate with women and have significantly hindered party functioning.

The protesting women demanded a change in leadership, urging the party to replace Kalivarathan as the district head. They emphasized that a good decision by the party leadership would be crucial, as his continued presence would likely hamper party activities within Villupuram district during the upcoming election.

It remains to be seen how the state BJP leadership will respond to the concerns raised by the protesting women, but their voices have certainly brought attention to the urgent need for action and reform within the party.
