Since the release of the first opus in 1996, each film in the saga Mission : Impossible has become an unmissable event. Ce Mission Impossible thus succeeds the skilful mixture between pure spectacle and modern political reflection, between entertainment and seriousness. First, on the dangers of artificial intelligence at the geopolitical, artistic and individual level. But this seventh episode also questions the franchise, reusing themes and scenes from the saga to open up to the future, in particular with the characters of Hayley Atwell and Pom Klementieff, overwhelming with charisma, who almost manage to steal the spotlight from franchise veterans. Mission Impossible : Dead Reckoning partie 1 will reconcile everyone for sure, fans of the saga, and those who have not been convinced so far.

For this seventh film of the license where Cruise plays agent Ethan Hunt, the actor embarked on a new challenge where he had no room for error: throwing himself from the top of a Norwegian cliff to end up in a dangerous parachute jump. During a making-of video, director Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise explain how they did it. Between the relentless training but also the millimeter calculations of the actor’s trajectories to be able to film the sequence in the most immersive way possible, this sequence was a headache to shoot.

When is Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 2 coming out?

The most attentive spectators will not have missed it, the seventh opus of the impossible franchise is titled Mission Impossible : Dead Reckoning partie 1. There will therefore be a sequel to the action film, since the plot is divided into two feature films. Let the fans be reassured however, part 1 does not end on a cliffhanger and we can decently wait before discovering the sequel. And fortunately, since the release is, for the time being, announced in French cinemas for June 26, 2024. It could nevertheless be postponed due to the writers’ strike which is currently agitating Hollywood.
