The Cabinet Council authorized the Minister of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot) to present to the National Assembly the bill that establishes a regime of preferential interest in mortgage loans and dictates other provisions.

The bill establishes 100% preferential interest coverage for homes with a value of up to $45,000 and also includes interest segments on home and apartment loans whose registered value at the time of financing ranges from $45,000 to $150,000.

The government vetoed the bill that would extend preferential interest in homes of up to $180,000, after this benefit expired in December 2022.
