Rosarito, BC- After the cancellation of the traditional Rosarito-Ensenada Cycling Tour that was scheduled for the month of September, no a major impact on hotel occupancy for that date, although there will be repercussions in the economic benefits and the projection of image that this event offers to Rosarito.
The president of the Tourism and Conventions Committee of Rosarito (Cotuco), César Rivera González, explained that currently only 25% of the total of the participants are foreigners and rent a hotel room, so the impact will not be significant.
He reported that he held interviews with the organizers of the tour and the cause that forced them to cancel the September edition stems from an internal restructuring of the organizing company since its general director, Ana Castro, resigned and there is no time to prepare for the September outing.

He mentioned that there are no problems with the town hall after what happened in May, when an attempt was made to suspend the event due to lack of payment in the permits, since the company later covered the requested fees and even an economic sanction for not having complied in a timely manner.
Rivera González added that it is expected that in May 2024 this event return to rosarito with more favorable conditions for the participants, since it is a ride expected by many cyclists and their families.

In turn, the President of the Administrative Council of the Hotel Rosarito, Hugo Torres Ramírez, indicated that cancellations are already being submitted for the date on which the tour was scheduled to take place, but the losses have not yet been estimated, considering that this hotel is the main meeting point since the tour begins from there.
