The state of mind of the multinationals operating in Brazil shows signs of optimism in the face of a scenario that promises lower inflation and positive perspectives on the Tax reform and the new marco fiscal.

A Folha survey, carried out by teleconference between May and June, collected positive comments from the executives of the 100 companies contacted in 80% of the cases. Among them, statements such as those of Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, who reported a “stellar” performance in emerging markets in general. The other 20% indicated complaints or some type of concern.

The thermometer of multinationals points to good prospects for sales in the country in areas such as food, technology, agricultural inputs and medicines. The optimism covers the most varied segments, such as medical marijuana, tourism or watchmaking.

Companies celebrate improvements in inflation and the increase in the purchasing power of the population, as well as the prospect of a good agricultural harvest and greater demand from China. The increase in the minimum wage in May boosted these expectations.

Market analysts also observe a moment of economic improvement in Latin America.
