On July 18, the public hearing will take place to resolve the protection action filed by Mónica Loza, after denouncing being a victim of political violence exercised by Hermel Tayupanda Cuvi, current prefect of Chimborazo.
Hiring. It all started on June 2, when, on a visit to the Provincial Board of Trustees, the prefect allegedly addressed the vice-prefect with a shout: “Mónica, you can’t appoint anyone, I’m the only one who can appoint personnel; My wife and I have delegated you to work here ”, then he would state that, soon, he will send some high school folders, which he did days later, when he gave at least 20 quick recruitment profiles.
First. On the 23rd of the same month, during the raising of the Flag in the Provincial Council, Tayupanda would have noted: “here is the true president of the Board, Normita Reinoso” and, faced with this, those present supposedly became concerned, because, in the position Loza was legally there.
Adviser. On Tuesday the 27th, the administrative director of the Board, Marco Carrión, would have presented the prefect’s spouse, who would start working as a volunteer and, later, the prefect would request the immediate hiring of Fabián Rodríguez to advise her, which gives way to an alleged inappropriate use of public resources, because Norma Reinoso performs a function that is non-existent.
Warning. On June 30, the prefect’s advisor allegedly approached Mónica Loza to give her the resolution in which she, for no apparent reason, removed her from the position of president of the Board.
Accusations. On July 4, in an interview, Tayupanda noted that the vice prefect of the Board of Trustees was removed for obtaining money at the expense of the sale of stalls, alleging that she has proof of what was said and, in response to this, the vice prefect asked that they be taken to carry out the necessary actions, since upon being aware of an act of corruption the ruler has the obligation to denounce it; However, until now he has remained in accusations, such as June 16, when the prefect allegedly stated that there is a harasser of women on the Board, but that the name is reserved, since the complaints are being investigated.
Answer. The same day, but hours later, the vice-prefect called a press conference and made the declaration of the legal process, a situation to which Tayupanda did not respond with an official pronouncement, but an audio was leaked -attributed to the prefect-, in which he would have said: “we are no longer supporting the lady, we don’t even want to see, let’s kick the Vice-prefecture tomorrow…”.
