Watan Al-Youm: Within the framework of the tasks assumed by the Ministry of Investment, the investment project in efficient technology and software using materials has been listed on the “Invest in Jordan” platform.

The project aims to reduce textile waste resulting from the production of clothing and textiles, as about 10-25 percent of textile inputs are disposed of in the form of cloth scraps, of which 70 percent is produced as waste resulting from the cutting process.

The expected investment amount is $130,000. The project is located in Al-Hassan Industrial City / Irbid Governorate, where the industrial city includes many garment factories.

The project will introduce effective technologies and programs to reduce textile waste at the source, which will bring environmental benefits, reduce waste generation, avoid the need for additional processing, and reduce costs associated with transportation and disposal. The new technology can also reduce the amount of cutting waste by 48 tons annually. .

The benefits of the project include reducing raw material inputs due to increased material efficiency, reducing the amount of waste that is disposed of by about 0.23 tons per day, and lower energy inputs per unit of product, which leads to a reduction in the carbon footprint, in addition to the possibility of achieving an annual reduction of about 335.8 Jordanian dinars. In the costs of waste collection and disposal services, reduce CO2 emissions and soil pollution due to less waste in landfill, and achieve better performance in compliance/governance and in corporate social responsibility.

And the “AutoCAD” improvement program is used to increase textile revenues in factories with high production, as one of the factories in Al-Hassan Industrial City applied the seamless knitting technique, which is based on using yarn to weave entire clothes in one step, which results in minimal waste. .

This investment requires the introduction of new technologies and machines, as the technology currently available in Jordan includes computer-aided design (CAD) technology from Orfali, and “Rich Peace” technology.

New must-have technologies include: improved cutting precision via CAD technology, which improves the cutting process and reduces the amount of textile waste generated by cutting, and seamless knitting technology where ready-to-wear garments can be produced without any side seams, eliminating seam production. (ie, cutting and sewing), also reduces the risk of defects and damage, thus there is almost no fabric waste.

This technology only applies to factories that use yarn instead of fabric as an input material.
