Likewise, the national scenario was very positive, according to Anfavea (National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers. The entity’s president, Márcio de Lima Leite, said at the monthly press conference that June is already considered the second best month of the year in sales He projects a July with registrations well above average.

In June, in a single day, 27,000 registrations were registered. The fact already represents the third largest daily registration in history. The number of registrations well above the average is a reflection of MP 1,175/23 of the federal government, which provided a discount on car prices between R$ 2,000 and R$ 8,000 on national models priced up to R$ 120,000.

“We estimate that of the R$ 800 million released by the government for light vehicles, R$ 710 million had already been invested by the end of the month, resulting in discounts for around 150,000 units. However, only 54,000 of them were licensed in June”, said the president of Anfavea.

SC car sales growth

In Santa Catarina, until the end of June, 86,275 licensed units were licensed, while in the same period of 2022, license plates reached 76,638 vehicles. Growth in the state, which has 547 motor vehicle dealerships, reached 12.57% in the first six months of the year.

In the comparison of June sales in relation to May, the increase was only 0.61%, according to data from Fenabrave-SC. 15,876 units were sold in June against 15,779 in May.

On the other hand, when compared to June 2022, the sector registers a remarkable growth of 17.35%.

government measures

The regional director of Fenabrave-SC, Alfredo Breitkopf, considers that the stability of sales in June compared to May is due to the fact that in the first fortnight the market was at a standstill due to the wait for government measures for the sale of sustainable vehicles.

“We can say that the measures put into practice were successful. Practically, June sales only took place in the second fortnight and even so, they surpassed May sales”, stated Breitkopf.

Currently, according to the Detran-SC, the fleet circulating in Santa Catarina totals 5,841,949 vehicles, of which 3,210,696 are cars.
