Ecuadorian para-athlete Kiara Rodríguez once again demonstrated her full potential by winning the gold medal in the 100-meter dash (T47 category) at the World Para Athletics Championships taking place in Paris.
Rodríguez crossed the finish line in first place, crowning herself world champion with a time of 12.17 seconds. The Ecuadorian surpassed Brittani Mason of the USA (silver) and Anna Grimaldi of Australia (bronze), in a demanding competition that took place at the Charléty stadium in the French capital.
Rodríguez added one more medal to his extraordinary record that includes medals at the continental, world and para-Olympic level. Rodríguez will compete again next Monday in the long jump test, another of his specialties.
It should be noted that with today’s result, Rodríguez became the first Ecuadorian athlete to qualify for the 2024 Paralympic Games.
