The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lauryn Hill headlined the Global Citizen festival to be held in New York in September, organizers announced Tuesday.

Artists like Megan Thee Stallion, Conan Gray and Stray Kids will also be on the Central Park stage for the event, which aims to rally support for preserving international aid to end extreme poverty, among other causes.

This event, scheduled for September 23, has been held since 2012 to coincide with the annual meeting of world leaders in New York to participate in the UN General Assembly.

The organizers offer free tickets to those who participate in pro-poorer countries activities such as sending letters to their governments requesting development aid.

“COP27, this year’s G7, the World Bank spring meetings and the Paris climate finance summit have failed to deliver tangible results or change the world’s unfair systems,” said Hugh Evans, Director of Global Citizen.

“But complacency cannot win” and urged the world’s richest nations to “face the urgency of the moment.”
