Dance, at the Opera Eleonora Abbagnato makes the students of the school ‘parade’

Essay show, on 15 July (8pm) at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, for the promising young talents of the Dance School directed by Eleonora Abbagnato. A targeted program that intends to stage not only appreciated students but to show the public the artistic, interpretative and technical progress of the students. The evening opens with ‘Imago’ with music by Joseph Haydn, Jean-Philippe Rameau and Christoph Willibald Gluck, choreography created by Giorgio Mancini in 2019 and remodeled for this occasion for students of all courses.

We continue with ‘Atto Due’, a new creation in a contemporary style by Francesco Annarumma interpreted by the students of the intermediate and high school courses on the music of Ezio Bosso. The last proposal of the evening, chosen with great care by Eleonora Abbagnato, is a tribute to the elegance of movement and the empathetic strength of harmony and virtuosity. ‘Péchés de jeunesse’ by Jean-Guillaume Bart. The choreography, created in 2000 for the Opéra national de Paris, is revived by a few pairs of students from the female and male high school courses. The music is taken from the sonatas of Gioachino Rossini.

The students of the Opera dance school directed by Eleonora Abbagnato will be back on stage on 23 July, at 7 pm, at the Teatro del Portico in the Baths of Caracalla. The young promises of dance interpret a suite from ‘Raymonda’ by Marius Petipa taken up by Ioulia Sofina, Ofelia Gonzalez and Pablo Moret and ‘The Carnival of the Animals’ with choreography by Davide Bombana. The show is part of the programming of Caracalla Off 2023 and precedes the Gran Gala di Danza at the Teatro Grande of the ancient Baths, at 21, with guests Maia Makhateli and Jacopo Tissi, and with étoiles, principal dancers, soloists and corps de ballet of the Rome Opera House.
