The spokesman for the PNV, Aitor Esteban, has had a not very lucid or brilliant participation on this occasion, because he has kept up with what he has been trying throughout the campaign. Concentrate your messages on two warnings: the Basque nationalist deputies, almost always at the center of many negotiations in Congress although they have only facilitated three inaugurations of presidents, refuse to “be nobody’s crutches” and, secondly, everything that have to talk with the PSOE and Sumar or with the PP alone will be based on the demands of their program. Aitor Esteban took advantage of the debate to recall the forgotten obviousness that these elections should not be presidential and even allowed himself to be provocative, always in his monotonous, serious and solid tone, pointing out that the great challenge will be for King Felipe VI when he have to wet to propose a candidate if the PP wins and requires the ultras deputies of Vox to reach La Moncloa. The PNV, Esteban stressed again, does not want to be equidistant, nor can it digest practically nothing of the “involutions” that Vox maintains, but Feijóo’s PP released a trial balloon: if the polls go that way, the PNV will speak of its program and of its demands for more self-government and competences for the Basque Country.

The greatest success: The PNV will not be equidistant before the involution that Vox means.
The biggest mistake: That the internal dispute that he has with EH Bildu for the nationalist electorate in Euskadi was so noticeable.
