Manchester City, Barcelona and Bayern Munich will become the three clubs that more money will enter for lending players to the World Cup in Qatar under the umbrella of FIFA, which will distribute 209 million dollars with the Aid Program for Clubs from a percentage of the profits obtained in the tournament.

City leads the ‘top 10’ with a total of 4,596.44 dollars followed by Barcelona, the first Spanish club on the list with an income of 4,538,955 dollars thanks to the 17 players who played in the World Cup spread over eight teams. Bayern Munich closes the podium with a figure of $4,331,809, while Real Madrid is fourth in the standings with $3,836,302.

The other Spanish team that enters the list of the ten most benefited by ceding players to the World Cup in Qatar is Atlético de Madrid. The club chaired by Enrique Cerezo accumulated a total of 3,232,203 dollars and occupies the ninth position; fifth place goes to Paris Saint-Germain ($3,835,389); the sixth is occupied by Ajax (3,495,013 dollars); seventh, Manchester United (3,326,194); the eighth Chelsea (3,255,016 dollars) and the tenth Juventus (3,048,783 dollars).

The FIFA Club Aid Program

The first non-European team on the list is Qatar’s Al Sadd, which is twelfth in the standings after earning $2,817,911. Only Tottenham, which reached a total of 2,3831,599 dollars, prevents the Arab club from being on the edge of the ten clubs in the world that generated the most money by ceding players to the World Cup.

The FIFA Club Aid Program is part of the agreement signed between the body chaired by Gianni Infantno and the Association of European Clubs (ECA), which was extended until 2030 at the ECA General Assembly held in Budapest (Hungary) last March.

Among the 440 clubs that will receive a portion of the World Cup funds are several who are active in lower divisions. Specifically, 78 clubs from the Second Division, 13 from the Third, 5 from the Fourth and one team from the Fifth Division.

FIFA will distribute a total of $209 million for the loan of 837 players, at a rate of $10,950 per day for each player, regardless of the number of minutes played during the tournament.

The total per player is divided and distributed among the clubs in which the player has been registered during the two years prior to the final phase of the competition. In accordance with the usual procedure, FIFA will distribute these amounts through the member federations to which the beneficiary clubs belong, the soccer body explained in a report.
