July 14: “moral force”, India, Ukraine… what you need to know about the 2023 parade

Quite a symbol: the Parliament definitively adopted, on this eve of July 14, the military programming law (LPM) 2024-2030, the most important for decades. After the National Assembly on Wednesday, it was the Senate which voted this Thursday this envelope of credits of 413 billion euros over seven years (i.e. 40% more than the previous LPM), in particular to modernize the army and replenish ammunition stocks, learning the first lessons of the war in Ukraine. This effort – even if the opposition points out that inflation is pissing off some of it – will be seen this Friday morning on the Champs-Élysées and in the sky of Paris.
