Rio de Janeiro will have a service effort at BPC This weekend, July 15th and 16th, from 7 am to 3:30 pm, the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) will carry out joint efforts to speed up the analysis of assistance benefits for people with disabilities (BPC ). The action, coordinated by the Regional Superintendence of Rio de Janeiro (SRSE III), takes place at the Social Security Agency (APS) at Praça da Bandeira, in Rio de Janeiro. The forecast is that 21 social workers at the institute will carry out around 300 extra calls. The calls will be made by appointment through Central 135, which is open from Monday to Saturday, from 7 am to 10 pm.

The initiative focuses on reducing the queue of benefits pending social assessment, which is one of the stages for granting the BPC. No medical examinations will be carried out during the task force. The expectation is to reduce the waiting time for service to ensure the improvement of services offered to citizens. “The idea is that actions like these are carried out in municipalities with a waiting time of more than 45 days. On the 5th and 6th of August, the action will take place in the municipality of Macaé. And in September, in the Baixada Fluminense”, commented the coordinator of Benefits Management for RJ, Flávio Souza.

For the Superintendent of the INSS in RJ, Marcos Fernandes, the BPC task force is one more of the measures adopted to reduce the queue for granting benefits and to offer quality service to citizens. This weekend’s action will not be an isolated measure; for the coming months, other joint efforts and projects are already confirmed, aiming at greater agility and quality in the services provided by the INSS.
The BPC mutirão is a national action and has already been carried out in Montes Claros (MG), Caruaru (PE), Pelotas (RS), Juazeiro do Norte (CE), Fortaleza (CE) and Manaus (AM), Imperatriz (MA) , Porto Velho and Ariquemes (RO) and Santos (SP). The next joint effort in the state of RJ will be held in Macaé, on the 5th and 6th of August.
